Sanjay Dutt turns wicked in 'Aladin'

After a spate of movies potraying Sanjay Dutt in his iconic 'Bhai' avatar, filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh's 'Aladin' will see the 50-year-old macho star in an odd villainous role.

Popularly called as 'Deadly Dutt', Sanju Baba is all set to scorch the silver screen as the evil 'Ringmaster', in the mordern day take on the classic fairy tale, which boasts of a visual scale never seen before on Indian screen.

"Sanjay essays the role of a most unusual villain 'Ringmaster', who can inspire tremendous awe and fear in the audiences mind.

'Ringmaster' is a character which takes villainy to new heights, but at the same time manages to endear himself to everyone," director Sujoy Ghosh said.

"He is a fun-evil character. A man who is happy in what he is doing. A man who is good at being bad, whose smile would scare the living daylights out of you. A man so big that even the all-powerful 'Genie' would be rendered helpless in front of him," Ghosh said.

"And to play such a powerful character, I couldn't think of anyone but Sanjay, known as 'Khalnayak of Bollywood'.

The larger than life persona that he beautifully portrays on screen is unmatchable," he said.

On the film, he said, "'Aladin' is a contemporary look at the classic fairy tale packed with fun, music, masti, action and adventure."

Starring Amitabh Bachchan as Genius -The Genie, Ritiesh Deshmukh as Aladin and Sanjay Dutt as 'Ringmaster', 'Aladin' also marks the debut of Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandes who is paired opposite Ritiesh.

'Aladin' is produced by Eros International in association with Sujoy Ghosh's production company Boundscript.
